Price Chiropractic & Fitness – Health Assistants
My name is Kim and I am one of the friendly people you’ll meet behind the front desk when you walk in the doors of PRICE! There are many reasons I love to work at PRICE. I enjoy interacting with all of our wonderful staff and practice members. I also get great satisfaction hearing all of the success stories from our patients and fit members.
I was born and raised in a small town, Linwood, just 25 minutes outside of Waterloo. My parents raised me and my 3 siblings to appreciate family and all the qualities that a small town has to offer. After high school, I attended K-W School of Hair Styling. I opened my own hair salon until deciding to be a stay at home mom to my three beautiful children. Once the kids were in school I managed “Cookie Cutters” a children’s hair salon in Waterloo for 9 years. I no longer style hair but I continue to enjoy expressing my artistic side! I love creating home decor items, interior decorating and adding my personal touches at PRICE. ☺
One of my passions is physical fitness. I’ve been working out for many years and now enjoy my workouts at the PRICE FIT CLUB. I’ve participated in fitness events including the Bad Ass Dash and Muderella. I also enjoy walking trails and taking in the beauty of nature with my family and dog.
When I’m not at PRICE you can find me spending quality time with my husband and 3 teenagers soaking up the sun at the cottage or on the boat. I also enjoy eating healthy and can often be found in the kitchen trying new healthy recipes!
The main reason that I am enjoying my days so much in the Price Fitness & Chiropractic reception area, is the high priority that is placed upon family values, personal well being, and the ongoing quality of life. My previous employment experience in the Nuclear Medicine Department at St Mary’s Hospital helped to prepare me for a vibrant and fulfilling work atmosphere in my new position as CHA. This is a very busy office which keeps me on my toes and in constant communication with our staff and clientele. I could not ask for a job that provides such a variety of opportunities for personal growth in such a healthy environment.
With every passing day, I am happy to say that I feel more and more a part of the Price “family”.
Vanessa has had a passion for fitness from a young age. She is an 8 time national champion, including the Canada Winter Games, as well as a World Champion in ringette. She attended Wilfrid Laurier University for Kinesiology where her love for athletics and healthy living continued to grow. During her years at Laurier, Vanessa was a well decorated field lacrosse athlete and continued to play ringette for the Cambridge Turbos. Upon graduation Vanessa began her career in Toronto working as a Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer. In 2006 Vanessa moved back to the tri-cities and joined the Price Team.
Price Chiropractic was a natural fit. It’s a positive place to work with a great team and wonderful practice members. Price is a place where Vanessa is able to fuel her passion for healthy living and helping others. In 2009 Vanessa was selected to play for the national ringette team. It was a big commitment and Price supported my dream by allowing me to work part time and keeping my body healthy to compete with regular chiropractic care.
Since then Vanessa has completed course work in Holistic Nutrition with the Canadian School for Natural Nutrition. Today she continues to work at Price part time in the office handling insurance billings. Vanessa has retired from the national ringette league but still plays on a competitive team for Waterloo.
She lives in Kitchener with her husband Trevor and their young daughter Paige. Outside of the clinic you’ll find Vanessa in the rink, at the park, in the yoga studio or crafting up some organic goods in the kitchen.
My name is Laura Grimm, I work as a Health Assistant at PRICE. I love the atmosphere here; everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I have always been motivated to help others, and I believe the PRICE team works hard to help our members achieve their goals. In 2005, I gained my certification for coaching sports teams and spent the following years coaching swimming and rowing in the community. I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2011 with a degree in Biology and minor in Psychology.
In addition to working at PRICE, I work as an Aquatic Supervisor which entails hiring and training the staff team, teaching advanced level courses, and providing swimming lessons for a wide range of abilities. More recently, I have obtained certifications in group training. I personally have found enjoyment in running and plan on running my next half marathon in September 2016. As a member of the PRICE team we are able to help the community access an important range of health techniques to maintain or improve their health and fitness goals.
Born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario; I moved to Vancouver, BC when I was 18 years old to pursue a Nutritional Science degree at the University of British Columbia and play on the first ever UBC varsity softball team. I spent two years there before returning to Kitchener and transferring to Sheridan College to study a degree in Exercise
